Bahama BBQ King
My name is Kwivan Miller and I am a trained chef by profession. My interest for culinary arts started at the young age of fifteen (15) years old while taking part in a home economics class at my former high school, St. Augustine’s College. Upon graduating from S.A.C., I enrolled at the College of the Bahamas were I completed my Associates degree in culinary arts. In the fall of that year, I enrolled in the Johnson and Wales University, Providence Rhode Island where I obtained my Bachelors degree in culinary arts. During my time abroad is when my culinary passion truly bloomed. I had the opportunity to experience the knowledge of food from cultures all over the world. I also did an internship in Switzerland and Italy as a pre requisite for my degree. Europe was the best culinary experience that I have ever had and it played a pivotal role in the enhancement of my culinary skills.
To date, I have sixteen years of experience in the culinary field, being employed by various resorts such as Atlantis resort and casino, The Lyford Cay Club and also Albany resort. I am currently self employed under the name BAHAMA BAR B KING. We specialize in a variety of products such as smoked BBQ meats, fettuccini, Singapore noodles, homemade ice cream, a wide variety of duffs and we also offer catering services as well for all cuisines.
My business idea moving forward in my career would be to operate a gourmet food truck. I would love the opportunity to offer a unique mobile service to Nassau and to also increase awareness of the BAHAMA BAR B KING brand. We have a wide variety of flavors and ideas that we are looking forward to introducing to the Bahamas, and eventually to the world. With the gift of social media, BAHAMA BAR B KING will showcase our creativity and talents to the international market so the world can see what the Bahamas has to offer.
